More From July
In the week before we went on vacation Steve did his second music exam
Robin being Robin....
Street scenes in Salamanca where we stopped overnight on the way to Ericeira. Having never really spent any significant time in Spain - it was interesting to drive almost right through the middle of the country NE to SW. A large amount is indeed high plains (about 900m above sea level) dry and flat(tish) and walled cities with castles. All very Don Quixote.
The cathedral in Salamanca was amazing (even though I suffer quickly from ABC (Another Bloody Catheral) Syndrome when travelling.
Baking teenagers - a fairly typical scene during the vacation.
Some art deco in Ericeira village. It is an old fisjing village that has been encapsulated by lots of holiday homes.
Day trip to Lisbon.
And what do they make in Portugal? Port! Check the dates on the bottles. Just in the main shopping street in the city centre.
Steve having a bit of a break
Lisbon
The mysterious breakage of the car window. Nothing stolen. What you miss here is the fact that it was sunny/warm but the wind was blowing about 30+ kph

Robs is 15!
Took all of these on Robin's 15 bd. The first few are a bit blue as I had the wrong white balance setting on the camera...
Rob's put on his new beach baggies from Gran & Grandpa and wore them continuously over the next few days.
Also pictured are Chris and his gf Annemay...
Amazingly enough this was the last of the good weather in NL. Whicle we were away on hols it rained pretty well the whole time.

What Kevin Found in the Strawberry Patch
My old mate Kevin Lyall dropped by in between work visits in Norway and here in Nederland. I immediately put him to work harvesting strawberries from the garden. And as luck would have it Kev discovered a rather large hedgehog lurking right in the middle of the strawberry patch.
Great place for it to be to catch all kinds of beasties that they like to eat. It was rather still and not balled up so we wondered if it was asleep. A check next day found no hedgey - so I guess it must have decided to hole up somewhere else (hopefully still in our garden somewhere)
